This two year assignment was responsible for coordinating curriculum for the state’s 14 regional campuses. Faculty Advisor to the Veterans Student Group. August 2009 to August 2010. This co-chair position is responsible for advising the student veteran group that was formed in 2009. Responsibilities include attending student meetings, advising veteran students and providing liaison support for students with the college.

Network & Computer Systems Consultant, D&L Industrial Finishes, Liberty, Indiana. December 2003 to August 2004.
I was contracted as a server/network systems consultant and I supported the upgrade/design and implementation of the company LAN.  The upgrade consisted of installing (2) Windows 2000 file servers, (1) Citrix Metaframe server, wireless access points, and reconfiguration of (10) desktops. I also facilitated the training of the employees on basic computer application skills. I also supported the specification and installation/integration of a new network printer/copier.

Computer Systems Analyst/Help Desk Support, Stride Rite Corporation, Customer Service Center, Richmond, Indiana. July 2001 to December 2003.
I returned to work for the Stride Rite Customer Service Center in July of 2001 to pursue my master’s degree. I was responsible for the frontline computer support of over 90 users. The support included Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Exchange 5.5 and Outlook 2000. I provided computer training to employees on Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, and other software including Outlook. I also developed, tested and deployed a Microsoft Access database program to assist the consumer services department in the tracking of consumer returns contact information.

Manager of Information Systems, Palladium-Item, Gannett Corporation, Richmond, Indiana. March 2000 to July 2001.
I was responsible for the direct supervision of three computer support technicians. I was directly responsible for the management of all computer systems operations in the newspaper. The systems included – an AS400 server, Email system, Windows NT4.0 server and Windows 2000 server. I was responsible for the supervision and maintenance of a Linux OS photographic archive server and the production servers for the newsroom and advertising department.

Indiana Army National Guard, Rank of Sergeant (E5), September 1998 to August 2001.
I served in the 76th Brigade S1 unit during this time as an E5. My administrative duties were directly related to the support of combat training for the 76th Brigade.


Help Desk Support Technician, Stride Rite Corporation’s Customer Service Center, Richmond, Indiana.
From June 1997 to March 2000, I worked as a Help Desk Technician. In this role, I was responsible for the computer support of over 120 users. This support included MS windows 95/98/200, Novell 4.11 administration and MS Exchange 5.5 - Outlook 98/2000 support and training. I also successfully supported the installation of Microsoft Exchange, Windows 2000 and Outlook at the Richmond Customer Service Center.

Financial Analyst/Facilities Manager, The Stride Rite Corporation’s Customer Service Center, Richmond, Indiana. April 1995 to June 1997.
I was directly responsible for the coordination and administration of a $3,500,000 budget. My duties included the timely interpretation and delivery of accurate financial information to the Customer Service Center Leadership Team. I also automated the financial tracking system for the Stride Rite Customer Service Center to track and report expenses. This system provided timely and accurate financial and head count forecasts each month. This system reduced monthly closing time by over eight hours.

Senior Accounting Analyst, United States Marine Corps - Rank of Sergeant, E5- MOS 3451. From September 1985 to March 1995, I served as an Accounting Analyst in the United States Marine Corps. I obtained the rank of Sergeant before leaving the service to focus more time on my family. During my service I developed, tested and implemented an automated tracking system using Lotus 123. This program assisted the 3rd Marine Division Comptroller in the tracking and return of business related travel advance dollars which helped to recover over $32,000 in a three-year period. I was also responsible for training various unit supply clerks on proper accounting procedures. In my last duty station I was responsible for the direct supervision of two junior marines.

Professional Development:

Academy for Instructional Excellence. Ivy Tech Community College, September 2008 to March 2009
The central theme of the Academy is the improvement of instruction and pride in teaching.  The approach is personal and draws on the talents and expertise brought to the Academy by the participants themselves.  Throughout the seminar, participants share their teaching experiences and focus on instructional issues, concepts, and ethics.  Graduates of the Academy come to view teaching as an art as well as a profession.

The Ivy Tech Leadership Academy teaches leadership techniques, teamwork, communication skills, conflict resolution, strategic planning, personal development, organizational behavior, team building, and setting priorities. The Ivy Tech Leadership Academy is designed to prepare future leaders from within the College.

United States Marine Corps, Staff Noncommissioned Officers Career Nonresident Program, M.C.A.S., Cherry Point, N.C., September 1991. The Staff NCO nonresident course taught advanced principles of leadership, military history and military planning principles.
